Year-End Giving and Grantmaking 2024

September 30, 2024

Many donors want to support the causes and organizations close to their hearts toward the end of the year. As you’re considering your or your clients’ year-end giving, please keep the following dates in mind to help ensure that Myriad USA can support any 2024 giving or grantmaking plans.

Grant Recommendations. We encourage those who would like to support an organization abroad in 2024 to recommend a grant from their Myriad USA donor advised fund or contact Myriad USA about an advised gift by November 15.*

GivingTuesday. Consider expressing your generosity online to one of our pre-vetted nonprofit partners on GivingTuesday, December 3. GivingTuesday was created in 2012 as a simple idea: a day that encourages people to do good. Learn more.

Stock and Mutual Fund Transfers. As financial firms have differing processes for gifting stock and mutual funds and their timing can vary, we suggest starting the process of giving publicly traded securities or mutual fund shares by early December. Shares received by Myriad USA by December 31 will receive a 2024 tax receipt. Learn more.

Year-End Gifts. Any 2024 donations to Myriad USA must be received by Myriad USA, made online, or postmarked by the USPS by December 31 to receive a 2024 tax receipt. Check out the many ways to give.

Office Closures. Please note that our offices will be closed November 28-29, December 24-25, and December 31-January 1.

Myriad USA is a U.S. 501(c)(3) public charity (EIN: 58-2277856). Donors are eligible for a U.S. income tax deduction for their contributions to the extent permitted by U.S. tax law.

* Myriad USA generally uses expenditure responsibility for its international grantmaking. As that process requires an application by the recipient organization, the timeline for grantees to receive grants depends on the response time of the nonprofit organization. Myriad USA will conduct due diligence and process grant recommendations in a thorough and timely manner; with a prompt response from the nonprofit grantee, it usually takes two to four weeks from a grant recommendation to the wire transfer into the organization’s bank account. Due to the expenditure responsibility process, Myriad USA cannot guarantee a grant distribution date.
