Speakers
Lindsay Newman is Chief Operating Officer at Giving Docs, where she leads organizational strategy, partnerships, operations, and growth initiatives designed to help nonprofits strengthen their planned giving programs. Working at the intersection of philanthropy, technology, and behavioral science, she collaborates with nonprofit leaders, fundraising professionals, and industry partners to make estate planning more accessible and help organizations turn donor intent into long-term impact. Before joining Giving Docs, she held leadership roles across the nonprofit sector, including serving as Executive Director of the Gunnison Valley Housing Fund and leading partnership initiatives for the Colorado Nonprofit Association. She has worked closely with organizations across Colorado and around the world, supporting a diverse range of missions including animal welfare, film festivals, cultural institutions, and community-based nonprofits, helping them build sustainable funding strategies and deepen donor engagement. She holds a master’s degree in nonprofit management from Regis University and serves on the board of the Colorado Planned Giving Roundtable.
Carlos Peña is Director of Strategic Philanthropy at Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) USA, where he leads strategy for donor-advised funds, workplace giving, strategic partnerships, and emerging philanthropic channels. Working at the intersection of finance, philanthropy, and innovation, he collaborates with financial institutions, donor-advised fund sponsors, and advisors to expand charitable giving and unlock new sources of support. Previously, Carlos led the Donor-Advised Fund program at the International Rescue Committee, where he helped advance one of the nonprofit sector's largest DAF programs and launched cryptocurrency philanthropy initiatives. Before transitioning to the nonprofit sector, he spent nearly a decade at JPMorgan Private Bank advising ultra-high-net-worth clients across Latin America.
Kate Rhodes is the Senior Officer of Strategic Philanthropy at the International Rescue Committee (IRC). The IRC is a global non-profit whose mission is to help people whose lives and livelihoods are shattered by conflict and disaster to survive, recover, and gain control over their futures. The IRC operates in over 40 countries and over 25 U.S. cities. In this role Kate develops and executes strategy for engagement, partnerships, and marketing with donor-advised fund sponsors, community foundations, and advisors. Kate has a decade of experience in the non-profit sector, previously running planned giving marketing programs at both the IRC and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
