From Toronto to Montreal: Cycling to Support People Living with HIV/AIDS

September 3, 2026

For nearly four decades, the Toronto People With AIDS Foundation (PWA) has been supporting individuals affected by HIV/AIDS through practical services and community-driven programs that help individuals live healthy, fulfilling lives.

Founded by people living with HIV/AIDS, PWA remains guided by the voices and experiences of the community it serves. Today, the organization provides access to essential supports including food programs, financial assistance, holistic healthcare services, and peer-led programs that reduce isolation and promote well-being. This August, PWA held its annual Friends For Life Bike Rally, one of Canada’s longest-distance charity cycling events supporting people living with HIV/AIDS. Since 1999, the six-day ride from Toronto to Montreal has raised funds for essential services, including food security, therapeutic care, financial assistance, and peer support.

Support PWA’s continued growth through its American Friends Fund at Myriad USA and help expand access to essential services and care for people impacted by HIV/AIDS.
