Emergency Relief: Category 5 Hurricane Melissa Hits Jamaica, Haiti, and the Caribbean

October 27, 2025

Hurricane Melissa made landfall in Jamaica as a catastrophic Category 5 storm—the strongest in the island’s recorded history. The storm caused widespread destruction, including landslides, flooding, and power outages. In Haiti, Hurricane Melissa triggered deadly flooding and landslides, where at least 25 people lost their lives. More than 160 homes were flooded, and emergency crews are still working to reach isolated areas. Although downgraded to a Category 2 storm, Hurricane Melissa accelerated as it passed through the Bahamas on Thursday. It is now expected to reach Bermuda later today.

Myriad USA is activating a response fund for its local disaster network and working with trusted partners in their efforts to support communities and provide aid to impacted islands in the region.

Our current response partners are listed below. We will continue to update this page as the situation unfolds and needs evolve across the region.
