Building a Lasting Legacy Through Support That Endures
If you’ve ever wished you could make a lasting impact on the causes and communities you care about worldwide, you’re not alone. Many donors want their support to extend beyond a single moment, ensuring that vital organizations continue to thrive for years to come.
Nonprofit organizations across the globe are leading efforts in education, healthcare, environmental protection, cultural preservation, disaster response, and more. Yet many of these organizations face unpredictable and inconsistent funding, often relying on short-term grants or one-time donations that make long-term planning difficult.
How You Can Have a Long-Term Impact
Whether you’re thinking about giving today or planning for the future, Myriad USA offers flexible, personalized solutions to help you fulfill your philanthropic vision and ensure that organizations abroad have the resources they need to weather challenges, plan ahead, and increase their impact.
Legacy Funds: A Myriad USA Legacy Fund is a powerful way to provide sustained support to the communities or organizations you cherish. It allows you to support a specific charity or an issue of interest in the country or region of your choice, for a number of years or forever—during or after your lifetime. Donor Advised Funds: With a Myriad USA Donor Advised Fund, you can make a gift into your fund today, receive an immediate tax deduction, and then recommend multi-year grants to provide continued support to organizations abroad. Learn more about Donor Advised Funds.
Smart Giving: Today and Tomorrow
You may be ready to give now or be planning ahead. Either way, there are multiple ways to give that may also have significant tax benefits.
Giving Today
Cash: The simplest and most immediate way to give. You can donate via check, wire transfer, or online. Your gift may be deductible up to a certain percentage of your adjusted gross income (AGI), if you itemize deductions.
Appreciated Securities: By donating long-term stocks, bonds, or mutual funds that have increased in value, you may avoid the capital gains tax and also receive a charitable tax deduction.
Real Estate or Other Property: By giving residential or commercial real estate, or other valuable assets like art or collectibles, you may avoid the capital gains tax and may receive a tax deduction based on the fair market value of the property.
Qualified Charitable Distributions (QCDs): If you’re 70½ or older, you can donate directly from your IRA, and your gift may count toward your required minimum distribution (RMD) and avoid income tax. Note that donor advised funds are not eligible to receive a QCD.
Cryptocurrency: Some donors are giving digital assets like Bitcoin or Ethereum. These kinds of gifts may help you avoid the capital gains tax, and you may receive a fair market value deduction, if the assets were held for more than one year.
Business Interests and Closely Held Stock: Giving shares in a privately held company or partnership, especially as part of a business transition or succession plan, may offer significant tax advantages.
Giving Later
Bequests in Your Will: Making a gift through your will can be easy and may also reduce your taxable estate.
Retirement Accounts: Naming a fund at Myriad USA as a partial or full beneficiary of your retirement account can be a simple way to give and may result in a charitable estate tax deduction.
Bank or Brokerage Accounts: Designating a fund at Myriad USA as a “payable on death” or “transfer on death” beneficiary of an account can be an easy and direct way to make a gift later, and it may also simplify estate administration for your heirs.
Life Insurance: Making Myriad USA the beneficiary of a life insurance policy may help you make a bigger gift than you could otherwise, and it may also have tax benefits.
Charitable Remainder Trusts: Establishing a charitable remainder trust (CRT) can help you make a significant gift, while providing income and a potential tax deduction in return.
