Advised Gifts
Convenient, occasional international giving
Advised gifts offer a simple solution for donors interested in one-time or occasional international giving. Gifts may also be eligible for a tax deduction. If you wish to support charitable organizations or projects based abroad on a regular basis, consider opening a Myriad USA Donor Advised Fund.

How Does It Work?
The process
You can make a contribution to the Advised Gift Fund at Myriad USA and recommend that your contribution be used to support a favorite charitable organization or project, anywhere across the globe. If you do not have a favorite organization in mind, Myriad USA can help identify charitable initiatives in a country, region, or field of your interest. The Advised Gift Fund at Myriad USA has a $5,000 grant minimum.
Ways to give
Myriad USA can receive gifts by check, credit card, or wire transfer, as well as gifts of appreciated assets such as stocks, bonds, mutual funds, real estate, and other types of property – even cryptocurrency. We also often receive advised gifts from family foundations, corporate foundations, and donor advised funds held at a community foundation or other donor advised fund sponsor. Making a grant distribution
Myriad USA will contact the recommended grantee to request information on their governance, financials, and activities. Our risk management and due diligence process ensures that grant monies are used for legitimate charitable purposes. As part of that process, we follow either Expenditure Responsibility or Equivalency Determination guidance depending on the grant activity, and we leverage our team of global experts to ensure sound compliance with local country requirements where the grantee is based. All grants are approved by our Board of Directors and followed by a grant agreement and annual reporting as required. Reach out to our team to learn more about the steps we take in our due diligence process.
Fee structure
Myriad USA charges a management fee to cover the due diligence and operational expenses associated with administering an advised gift. Our fee structure is as follows:
- 5% of the first $100,000 of each grant made to the foreign nonprofit;
- 3% of the next $400,000;
- 1% of the next $500,000; and
- 0.5% of the amount of each grant in excess of $1,000,000.
- Max. fee: Flat $32,000 for grants over $3 million.
This fee structure is all inclusive – there are no other legal or due diligence fees assessed.
