Akili Dada Empowers Young Women to Lead Change Across Kenya

Based in Nairobi, Kenya, Akili Dada is breaking down barriers by equipping girls and young women from rural and low-income communities with the tools they need to lead. Through innovative programs in education, mentorship, and leadership development, Akili Dada’s award-winning Leadership Incubator provides scholarships, wrap-around support, and hands-on learning—helping thousands become changemakers across Kenya and East Africa.

From launching the Washa Economic Empowerment Initiative to the Manyatta Homeschooling Program, Akili Dada is cultivating the next generation of leaders. Its alumnae are activists and entrepreneurs who are shaping grassroots movements, civil society organizations, and public service.
